Prior to joining Marketplace Chaplains, he served as the Director of ISCF, a pioneer organization of 23 years that served in reaching out to over 1500 international students and faculty from 160 countries at Old Dominion University. In addition to launching businesses, he started his early career as an executive in multi-national corporations and a Fortune 500 Company and has served as a church leader both overseas and in Virginia, USA. He was on staff for over 3 years with large multi-site church overseeing hundreds going on overseas outreach and humanitarian trips annually.
Michael has had the pleasure of traveling and living in multiple countries before moving to Virginia Beach to pursue his degrees in Business Administration and subsequently his graduate degree in Theology and Intercultural Studies at Regent University.
He has lived in the Middle East and South Asia for a number of years, and his heart’s desire is to see the Gospel transform nations. He is married to his bride of almost 13 years, Rebecca John, who he met on the missions field. Rebecca is currently a Professor of Education at Virginia Wesleyan University. They have two energy-packed boys Nathan (9) and Asher (6), and a daughter, Anya (2 ½). They reside in Chesapeake, Virginia.
